Instagram Direct
What you need
- An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator).
- That account linked to your Facebook Page — Instagram Direct cannot be
connected without one.
- Admin access to the Page.
How to connect
- In the Instagram app, open Settings → Account type and tools and switch
to a professional account if you have not already.
- Link it to your Facebook Page.
- In Parrot go to Channels → Instagram Direct and press **Connect with
Facebook**.
- Sign in as the person who manages that Page, approve the access, and choose
the Page.
The linked Instagram account connects with it, and shows as Connected on your Channels page.
The sign-in is with Facebook, not Instagram, because Instagram Direct is served
through the Page the account is linked to. Parrot never sees either password,
and you can withdraw access from Facebook under **Settings → Business
integrations**.
What arrives
Direct messages, story replies and mentions all land in the inbox as ordinary conversations, with the story attached so your team can see what the customer was reacting to.
