Facebook Messenger
Messages sent to your Facebook Page arrive in the Parrot inbox, where your team — and the AI agent — can answer them.
What you need
- A Facebook Page for the business. A personal profile cannot be connected:
Messenger only delivers business messages for Pages.
- Admin access to that Page.
How to connect
- Go to Channels → Facebook Messenger and press Connect with Facebook.
- A Facebook window opens. Sign in as the person who manages the Page.
- Approve the access Parrot asks for.
- Choose your Page from the list.
That is it. The Page shows as Connected and messages start arriving straight away.
Parrot never sees your Facebook password — you sign in to Facebook itself, and
Facebook tells us only which Pages you chose. You can withdraw that access at
any time from Facebook under Settings → Business integrations, and messages
stop arriving immediately.
Connect from a browser window that allows pop-ups. If yours are blocked, the
sign-in opens in the same tab instead and returns you here afterwards.
What happens next
- Every message becomes a conversation in the Inbox, with a contact record.
- A ticket is created automatically so nothing is lost.
- If the AI agent is switched on and your Business profile is filled in, it
answers in the customer's own language and hands over to a person when it should not answer.
Connecting more than one Page
Run the same flow again and pick a different Page. Each Page is its own connection, and the inbox shows which one a conversation arrived on.
Ads that click to Messenger
If you run Facebook ads that open a Messenger conversation, the ad's reference arrives with the first message. Build a Flow with an Ad referral trigger to greet those customers with exactly what the ad promised — see Flows or the AI agent?.
